We’re pleased to announce the Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame inductees for 2023.
In the living category:
- Lori MacMaster – step dancer and teacher of step dancing.
- Glenda McDonell – promoter and supporter of all aspects of Celtic Culture, also a founding member of the Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame.
In the deceased category:
- Larry Lafave – a promoter of Celtic music, especially in the Martintown area.
- Duncan “Dougie” MacDonald – a fiddler, who played in many local orchestras, including the “Dougie Boys” orchestra with his three brothers.
- Alexander Norman (Red Alex) Stewart – a piper who participated in many community activities.
In the Band/Group/Association category:
- The SD&G Highland Dancing Association which consists of the three local Highland dancing schools. It has been part of the Celtic culture in the area since 1964.
The Induction Dinner will take place on Friday, May 26th, 2023 at the Bonnie Glen Pavilion. Tickets will go on sale in early May, the dates will be posted on website and Facebook at the time.
