Scottish Heritage Day on Nov. 30

We are pleased to celebrate the first official Scottish Heritage Day in Ontario on November 30th.

Jim McDonell, the MPP for Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry, introduced the Scottish Heritage Day Act.

“The day may hold special significance for residents of SDG, where Scottish settlers were among the first to arrive and build homesteads for themselves in Upper Canada in the 18th century… the highlanders… helped shape the counties into what they are today, which can be seen in events such as the Glengarry Highland Games.”
