Ross Davison is a devoted piper, teacher, and supporter of Celtic music whose leadership has helped strengthen the piping community in Glengarry and beyond. Through teaching, performing, and mentoring, he continues to share his love of the music and encourage the next generation of players.
Neil Emberg has spent over 30 years sharing Glengarry’s Celtic heritage through music, blending tradition with original songwriting as front man of Hadrian’s Wall. A performer, mentor, and community volunteer, his contributions have helped carry Glengarry’s musical legacy across North America and beyond.
Formed at the Alexandria Curling Club in 2004, The Fridge Full of Empties has become a beloved fixture in Glengarry’s Celtic music scene. For over 20 years, they’ve brought traditional tunes to life with heart, humour, and harmony on hometown stages and throughout the region.
John D. MacLeod of Dunvegan (1901-1968) was a driving force in preserving Celtic music in Glengarry. Founder of the Glengarry Pipe Band and champion of piping, drumming, and Highland dance, his legacy continues to inspire the community.
Duncan Angus McRae, a gifted Gaelic singer from St. Raphael’s, Glengarry, dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the rich traditions of Celtic music. His pioneering 1918 recordings have earned international recognition and secured his place as a cultural icon in both the local and global Celtic music communities.
Johnny Mack MacCrimmon (1917–1977) brought joy to Glengarry through decades of fiddle music, from granary dances to house parties. Known for his signature tune “Davie Taylor,” he and his wife Anna Mary shared a deep love of music that left a lasting mark on the community.
