The Morris Family has sustained and enriched a Celtic music tradition rooted in both Scotland and Ireland, carrying it forward with remarkable dedication for nearly 50 years. The ten children of the late Howard and Gwen Morris: Jean, Grace, Bill, Don, Cleary, John, Mary, Ann, Maureen, and Frank, have continued to sing together across decades, accompanied by Cleary’s wife, Alana MacPhail Morris.

Jim McRae

Jim’s musical life spans decades of choral work, solo performances, and Celtic roots — singing and playing across more than 30 churches and contributing to beloved regional ensembles including the Seanachies, Celtica, and Sixmilecross. He was also a key cast member of Music and Mayhem, an annual charity variety show that raised funds for adults with developmental disabilities. His quiet generosity and versatility have made him a cornerstone of Glengarry’s living musical tradition.

Catherine Jean MacLeod spent 30 years as a dedicated music teacher across Glengarry’s rural schools. A gifted singer and choir director herself, Catherine brought music to every corner of the county and is fondly remembered by the many students whose lives she shaped.
