Tune composer Hugh Allan MacMillan, a member of The Glengarry Strathspey & Reel Society, when traveling in Nova Scotia, often visited friends Floyd and Gerri MacDonald who lived in Creignish, Cape Breton.
This tune, The Lochaber Gathering, a march, was recorded by GCM Hall of Fame inductees The Glengarry Strathspey & Reel Society on their album, “A Glengarry Gathering.”

This song, one of many composed by Anna Margaret MacDonald about her beloved Glengarry, was performed by members of her family at her induction into The Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame in May, 2011.
